I agree with rcpilot. Although your monitor is not crap (I think he was refering to one you might have to borrow) you would be amazed what difference a good CRT makes. My mate got a belinea 19" CRT for Xmas one year and it looked OK but then I bought a Sony 19" Trinitron CRT off Ebay for my mate and it was far better - the dot pitch and refresh rate makes all the differnce. On a 17" - 19" you want less than 0.25 if possible and certainly 75 Hz is the bear minimum especially for prolonged play. I bought a really cheap (sub £100) 17" CRT once and it had a 0.38 dot pitch!! it looked like it had scanlines.

4.77MHz to 4.0GHz in 10 years. Imagine the space year 2020 :)

I reread my post & guess I could have worded it differently. I didn't mean to call your monitor crap. I guess I did in a round about way. Sorry about that willamett_sucks. I meant to help not flame.

Thanks for pointing that out to me david_t.

If it ain't broke, take it apart & see why not!

Willamette is done with this problem and enjoying his new 9800Pro. Any flack you might have given him....he deserves, he gives flack to EVERYONE....but I like him, he's a really good kid(he's only 16)....

Lol. Ok, ty Gen.
And yes this post is old and dead, but whatever.
Gen, alot of people in this forum are under 20, j00 are OVER THE HILL MAN! Same with gamers.

Neways, yes, I am enjoying my many thousands of frames per second with my 9800 pro, however, the screen errors are not gone. Also, they do not occur on the tv. Which pretty much confirms my monitor is screwed. Luckily its still under warrantee, and I found the reciept, so ill take it to Best Buy ASAP.

Im playing Unreal 2 at 1024x768 completely max settings, with 4x AA and 16x Perf. aniso, and getting better fps than i did on my TI4400 with no AA, no aniso, and slightly lower settings.
Damn.

Long live ATI.
