Hi I am interested in when a format took place but would like to do this on a flash drive. Is this possible? I would probably need to access hiden folders but don't know how.
"Date formatted" does not exist. You have no way to tell when a drive was formatted, why do you need to know this anyway?
As to hidden folders just configure the file explorer to show hidden files/folders and go on about your day.
If someone formated my drive and later said that it must have been me that did it, it would be a nice way to prove he had done this. But if that information is not stored in some config then thats a none starter.
Possibly, maybe...the System Volume Information date.
This is a SanDisk 32gb flash drive, shown in WinDirStat.
Bought on Amazon and delivered 4 Dec 2024.
Data loaded on to it on 6 Dec 2024. (This is a Macrium Reflect Rescue USB)
Sys Vol shows a date of 25 Nov 2021. So it may have been sitting on the shelf for 3 years.
Test this.
Document the Sys Vol date on the drive currently.
Format it
Check that date again.
Does it change?
Sorry, I was relying on my faulty memory. I should have said " click the $Metadata line above the $Root and observe the date/time stamps in the top right pane".
