What do I need to replace laptop screen?

Hello my laptop screen is dead. There are pixels everywhere, it's cracked, it's just dead. I am going to buy a new LCD or screen for it. MY question is do I have to have a certain type of screen for my computer model? Like does it have to be by the same manufacturer, or does it have to correspond certain details of my laptop? Or can I just buy any screen? And also how hard is it to put a new screen on?

you will have to get the same screen that is already in it. each laptop model changes how it mounts and plugs in and such so only the original screen will fit. it is not too hard to replace one but it can be a pain to get all the parts out of the way. you will want to get the service manual for your laptop to see how it comes apart (no 2 i have worked with have ever been the same) normally the keyboard and top panel have to come off so you can get to the connectors and such.

honestly if you have never done it before, having a certified repair done might be worth the cost. many local pc repair stores have certified techs who can do the repair with factory parts.

to do it yourself you'll need to find a new screen. from the manufacturer or on ebay or elsewhere. you can look for the same model that does not work and use it for the screen if you can find it that way. this will also let you take one apart before taking yours apart since you can break the already broken one if you need to
