I'm not the best with computer but I know the basics. I have an
AMD FX(tm)-670K Quad-Core Processor (4 CPUs), ~3.7GHz and AMD Radeon R7 240. I know these aren't the best specs. I was only able to run fallout 4 on medium-low. I want to be able to play games on High or Normal/Medium settings at a constant 60fps or atleast NEVER dipping below 40. Game's I'm thinking of playing are, Star Wars Battlefront, Fallout 4, The Witcher 3, Arma 3 and Just Cause 3. It really sucks playing games at around 30 fps on low. So I was just wondering what I should upgrade for my pc to be able to play those games on those settings, thanks.

Buy yourself a nice new GPU first. The goal is to buy one that isn't going to be drastically bottle-necked by your current system, but is strong enough to bring into your next build. The R9 380X are great cards, as are the GTX 960 and they will both permit you to play all the games you mentioned with pleasurable settings and fps.

Then I would buy a couple of fans, a Cooler Master 212 Evo CPU Cooler and try to play around with overclocking that processor (power supply permitting). If your power supply is very poor quality or us under rated for overclocking, then buy it before the cooler, getting a strong 550-750W reliable well reviewed unit. This piece won't improve performance but is the best building block to start with when planning your next system.

I'm not sure what my PSU is, and my budget is pretty low at the moment only have around 150$ atm

Save your money.

Once i get paid this thursday I'll have around 350$ but until then I'm stuck with this

Wait until your next paycheck and then buy an GTX 960. It has relatively low power consumption so odds are even if your PSU is dinky you won't blow it up right away. You will see a huge performance jump. You should also insure you have 8GB of RAM. You should open up your PC and let us know what power supply you have.

Is there no other way to check what my PSU is other than open up my PSU?

No, you have to visually inspect it. You take the side panel off of your pc by removing the two screens at the rear and just slide it off.

It says 300W MAX. Is that it?

I ordered my GTX 960 and will be buying a 500W power supply at like future shop because the exchange rate is too much money for canada. I have PSIe x8 will that fit a GTX960 2GB?
