So here's the build, slightly over budget, but I think it's good, so what you guys think about it? (For gaming, obviously).

CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor ($235.99 @ Amazon)
Motherboard: ASRock Z97 PRO4 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($101.98 @ Newegg)
Memory: G.Skill Ares Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($49.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($54.99 @ Newegg)
Video Card: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 970 4GB WINDFORCE Video Card ($350.72 @ Amazon)
Case: NZXT Phantom (White) ATX Full Tower Case ($109.99 @ Newegg)
Power Supply: XFX 550W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply ($65.99 @ Amazon)
Monitor: Acer G226HQLBbd 60Hz 21.5" Monitor ($99.99 @ Amazon)
Total: $1069.64

So what do you guys think? I think I'll get an SSD for the first upgrade. :)

Do you have anything in mind in terms of case and monitor?

Very nice build man... But I`d also go for a 23'' monitor instead. It`s going to look alot better a game better. And yes a SSD would be nice but if you don`t have the funds now just run it as it is and get a 120/128gb ssd later on for the OS... Oh yeah and cooling!!

DO NOT RUN THAT STOCK COOLER ON THAT CPU... iT SUCKS A FAT ONE!

Different case, SSD, and good monitor:

Solution

If I wait and get the cooler later and don't overclock the CPU now, will the stock cooler be okay?

It HURTS because I love the look of the case... :/ I'm really torn between buying an SSD later or now. The thing is my desk folds into my bed so I can't have a big monitor, and I'm putting my PC on the floor next to the desk so that is fine. :??:

Do what you have to do. I'm just trying to help you get the best for your money. Cheers.

No you definitely helped and I will take it into consideration!

At stock speeds yes, but it feels like such a waste given what that cpu can do with a solid OC....
