Case: Fractal Design Define R4
Motherboard: ASRock Z97 Anniversary
Processor: Intel Core i7 4790k
RAM: HyperX FURY Series 8GB 1866MHz
CPU Fan: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
Graphics card: MSI GTX 970
Storage: Samsung 850 EVO SSD + Western Digital Blue 1TB
PSU: Corsair RM Series 550

Does my motherboard support the ram speed which is 1866MHz? On the motherboard specifications it says it supports 1866(OC)?

your build is fine and the mobo can support up to 3100Mhz RAMM according to the ASRock website, i would suggest that you change that PSU as its not suitable for Gaming purposes you can get anything from XFX or EVGA 550W/650W G2 these are top of the range PSU's, also you should go for an I5-4690k or the newer I5-6600k (you would need to change mobo/ram for this) i5's offer way better performance to the $ than i7's do and nothing no game need more than the i5-4690k offers atm, look into getting 16GB of ram as games in the future will need it, everything else is nice.

Why is my psu bad? It's in tier 2 of the psu tier list.
 
no its not its in tier 3 on the list, the RM 850W is in tier 2.

RM Channel Well Technology (450w - 650w, 1000w) / Chicony (750w) < all of these are tier 3 meaning they are not suited for an overclocked gaming computer.
