The ud9 does not fit in the case sadly. The case may be beautiful and built well but when it comes to performance it has little to offer.

The 1500watt is completely useless nobody uses that much. But it does mean the voltage regulators aren't stressed at all in normal usage which means less heat.

Also the tuniq tower may dissapate heat quickly but when your looking at very high overclocks which is what a system like this should be used for. You'd better get a cooler like a d14 with more surface area and fan mounting capabilities.

Again the d14 probably won't fit in the level 10 and it will probably do a horrible job there aswell(so would the tuniq).

I know you love the case. Eshtetically so do I. But performance wise it just blows. Aww...you actually got me hooked on the MoBo, I really want it!

I do not plan on over-clocking, so there will not be much heat.

I just checked out the D14, I will be sticking with the tuniq.

I know! I know! *wishes that it was more than just a pretty face* ha ha ha, thanks for the recommendations though.

I will be checking out more of UD's series of motherboards to see which one is closest to UD9 and beats the one on my rig that can actually fit in the Level-10 =S

The ud7 is identical to the ud9 exept: it fits, doesnt allow 4way sli and has slightly worse OC performance. I don't think any of those should worry you since you won't OC. Although I must reccomend it as on a system like this in a better cooled case and with the d14 you can hit 4.3-4.5 stable probably. So a 3.6 OC or so would do no harm.

Ultra can be a good company. The original Ultras were more or less junk. Found with tigerdirect bundles, nothing to write home about. The X2s came out and were good. Really good. As good as most other PSUs out there. The x3 line came next and were unimpressive. The higher wattage supplies had issues with ripple and they weren't that efficient as well. The x4s seem to have a similar issue, at least with some units and some reviews. I wouldn't call them a bad company other then the first units.

I found that review odd as well. All this time of saying there is no difference between single and multi rail designs and we now hear that there might be. I'm not sure where the point is that he talks about, but I do wonder now where it is. Does it really matter? If a breaker can't provide more then 2kW anyways, the max for the 12V rail would be 167A. Would have to be lower then this obviously due to efficiency, but with a 93% design isn't that still 155A? Assuming you can load the 12V rail only?

Well, if we're to use a game like Crysis as the determinant for playable resolutions, I believe the 5970 will definitely give you better frame rates at both those resolutions over a 5870.

Always think to the future when buying your components, the cross fire 5850's is not thinking to the future, it's just about immediate cost benefits.
A single 5970 for now is a step in the right direction, and make sure your case and mobo can fit another later down the road when you finally go big with your monitors.

Can you find me one review where the 5870 can't max out crysis at 1680x1050? I know its warhead, but here is the 5870 maxing the details out at 1920x1080, with 2AA. Drop down to the 1680x1050 res the OP is using, and 4AA is doable, 8AA is possible. I'd probably stick with 4AA just to get to 60FPS. If anyone has a review of the 5870 playing crysis, or at the 1680x1050 res I'd like to see them.

I'm not saying the 5970 is wrong, but why spend so much if you don't need to? If I was the OP I wouldn't be buying a lot of things he is. A 6 core CPU with a 5970 and 8GBs of ram just to play at 1680x1050? Drop down to a 930, 6GBs, and a 5870 so that you can afford a 1920x1080. Its called balance. But its his money, so its his call.

And it's appearant that his budget is big. Thus the 5970. But MiNuN, the biggest travesty of your rig is the way overpriced CPU. Get a 930, there are no games out there where the 930 will be the bottleneck. Hell, you can OC the dammed thing to run like a 980 anyways. Plus, the 930 is already geared toward gaming future. It's got an extra core sitting there waiting for developers to take advantage of, (today's games don't use more than 3).

Rockitman no offense but how does a 5970 allow better future-proofing than a 5870? The 5870's run much cooler so can be OC'd. And even if he decides to keep that sucky case and thus goes with a 3-way xfire mobo which it's pointing towards now. Then still 3 5870's OC'd will provide equal performance to 2 5970's (considering you get high end 5870's)

Next please together with all of those other people who keep on saying this stop telling people you can OC a 930 to equal a 980. Because it still has more cores. And it can also be OC'd(much further in fact).

As for the build I have my issues with it as I've pointed out. But you know about those and don't care lol. So go ahead and build!!

Also check if the prolimatech fits in the lvl 10. Because the lvl 10 is pretty small internally.

I would imagine that you'd need only 2 5870s to equal or pass the 5970. Remember that to get it to a "300W" part they had to lower the clock speeds of the 5870. Three of them in Tri CF should be faster then a 5970, assuming you have a resolution that will let them stretch their legs.

As for the lvl 10, thats what I said....
