That CPU is MASSIVE over kill. And actually its only marginally faster than the 3770k in actual gaming. The LGA 2011 CPUs dont really come into their own until you are doing things like video editing. YOu have more RAM than will EVER be utilized..

But hey.. if you really wanna spend that much..

Well, it's overkill in every way but a swell machine - for the home.

LAN boxes should be highly compact and lightweight since the goal is fragging not saying "wow this scenery looks swell at 200fps on ultra." I'd run at lower eye candy to keep the fps up and be competative.

Still, it's fun to do crazy buids. I did a $15K one at Falcon Northwest years ago. Think it was a dual CPU skulltrail-based setup.

I have not decided on that yet...what do you suggest? What I do know! It will be a wrap round multi screen deal. Having the feel of being in an airplane **** pit...... :hello: :sol: 😴 !!! HELLO..

Great point! I am hoping to acheive that emotion as well as ...a bit of over KILL if I must say!

Yes..I do realize that and thanks for your input. I will perhaps take an additional look at spec..vs. performance!
