I understand that the GPU is a little bit of a overkill but I do plan on upgrading to a 4k monitor in the future.

swap out the cpu for an i5 6600k, the motherboard for an asus z170 (or w.e brand you like), and the ram for 8gb of ddr4

if you were looking at the z97A, and assuming you researched it to pick that one, maybe the z170A would be good?

not sure, havnet looked into motherboards that much past the MSI Krait cuase I like the colors 😀

I was going to put the Krait in my build but some people told me it wasnt all that good of a MOBO

Keep in mind the SKYLAKE cpu board and DDR4 MEM will cost a bit more then you have for your build now its a newer generation that offers only about 5 % increase if that over your current build..

Probably not. DDR4 is still more expensive than DDR3, so are Z170 motherboard over Z97. Your initial build is great. I would swap the SSD for a crucial MX200 and the PSU for a 850W XFX (if you ever wish to add another card in SLI).

Well thank you everyone that helped out I feel much moe confident about this build then I did a few days ago. This is my first build after all.
