What do you think of this system build?

Hi everyone,

Here is a system build I have put together.

I want the gaming PC be future proof for a while (2-3 years without an upgrade) and some of the most demanding games I will play will be Battlefield and ARMA franchises

Will this build supply over 70FPS on ultra settings after 3 years? (I know we cant predict how demanding these types of games will be by this time, but still, there might be a general rule of thumb)

Also, if you have ANY constructive criticism, please let me know.

Onl ultra, most probably not since only the last series (*80) can last 3 years like this (meaning gtx 980 or 980ti) but it will run everything. Also you might consider going for 2x8gb instead of 4x4 (easier to increase it in the future).

Ok, isn't 2x8 slightly worse than 4x4, and isnt 16GB substancial anyway for gaming?

You won't notice it, and if for some reason in the future you have to increase it, it will be easier that way, but thats about it.

Ok, and were you recommending a 980 or 980 TI over the 970 for future proofing it?

Well if you have the money a 980/980TI is way, way better. You could always drop the 6700k in favour of a 6600k (which will last you for 5 years easily) and with the 150 saved pounds upgrade to a 980TI. That way it will be way more future proof gamingwise.

Could I downgrade even further to a i5 6600? Would over-clocking help stretch the lifespan to the 5 years? Also, is i5 fine for gaming? I don't know too much

The i5 is a BEAST for gaming and overclocking usually extends the life of a CPU by at least 12-18 months, but even a 6600 will not bottleneck you.
