[SOLVED] What does Chkdsk do vs drive scan apps like HDD Sentinel?

I wonder what do apple like HDD Sentinel etc do that the command "chkdsk" doesn't do

CHKDSK analyses the file system and checks its integrity.

Tools such as HDDScan, SeaTools, HD Tune test each sector for read errors, but are file system unaware.

Well, checkdisk checks /repairs the file system and can perform a a surface scan/bad sector scan of the HDD. That is all.

HDD Utilities don't check the file system so cross off surface scan from HD Sentinels features list and you have the remaining differences.
