What does debug mean?

I have just built my first gaming pc and thank god it works fine but on the motherboard there is a small green number that is a 'debug number' according to the manual what does this number mean as it is changing from about 30-50

Its kind of like a check engine light on a car if there is an error or other problem with the system it will give you a number to help diagnose the problem. Im sure your motherboards manual will tell you what numbers its supposed to be displaying under normal operation.

It is a self diagnostic feature that will display the status and possible errors, for years motherboards used a beep code to do the same thing.
