What does it means: UHD 4K resolutions up to 3840x2160 @ 30Hz

I am wondering what does it means when it says that KVM switch supports UHD 4K resolutions up to 3840x2160 @ 30Hz. What is the 30Hz means? I thought all monitors are at 60 and above Hz. Let's say the monitor specs say 3440 x 1440 21:9 UltraWide 5ms 60HZ. Does it mean that this KVM switch will not be able to handle it?

Thank you.

the refresh rate in 2D applications will be the one of the monitor.
Any card can do it.

The importance of the refresh rate in 2D application is much less significant than in 3D apps like games. especially fast moving games.

So 30FPS is not ideal, but it's fine.

I am not doing any gaming, I need high resolution to make my audio software elements look smaller and fit more tracks on the screen. There is a movement when the audio tracks moving trough the screen but it is not as instance and busy as video game. But still- I am trying to figure out if it would work. This would be my 3rd KVM- I had 2 instances of Lunksket DVI kvms that don't support high resolutions like this. So I am rebuilding and going with Display Ports.

Avocent SV340D-001 4-port desktop KVM, dual head Display Port 1.2, front panel USB 3.0,audio

I dont have such monitor yet. I have 25somethingX1080 and regular monitor. I am thinking to get 4K monitor, but I dont have to. Also audio software is not exactly Word or Excel documents. There a lot of colors and multiple meters and waveforms that graphically respond to sound and constantly moving. It looks like this:

http://www.cakewalk.com/Products/SONAR This is the main software

https://www.izotope.com/en/products/bundles.html?gclid=CPHboZCS6tECFUmHswodZKgCRA This is effects software- all of it is running at the same time and moving. (You dont have to read, just look on a pictures if you like).

At what resolution will the refresh rate start dropping? My graphics card is nVidia 1060. Thank you.
