[SOLVED] What does printer is offline mean mac

Hello,
Updated my operating system from Leopard to Snow Leopard. Now I can"t get my printer to printer. Keeps saying it is offline but is on the tool bar but says offline. How do I fix it?

"Offline" is a generic term meaning that your computer is unable to connect to your printer. There can be several different reasons for this, we will need some information in order to help you out.

Is your printer networked or do you plug directly into the printer?
If your printer is networked can you ping the ip address? *google if you need to*
Can other computers access the printer?
