Question What does spec mean

I am not totally new to desktop computers , but I'm getting around to buying a desktop from a supplier and they asked what my spec was. What does spec mean does it mean how much storage I want in its harddrive or give it bluetooth, or how much battery power it needs, or what colour I want.. Black/white. Can S omone tell me what spec means

I have no idea what they mean if you're trying to buy a PC and they asked "What is your spec"

"spec" usually refers to specifications. Like what hardware you want (processor, ram, HDD size, ect)

I'm not sure why they would be asking you for specs tho, it should be the other way around.

I think maybe I was doing things wrong . That's why they asked what's my spec

They might be asking you what specifications you want your new PC to have.

Spec can also be short for specialty or area of need for the pc. When building a pc you can run into various different builds, depending on if you play games at 1080p or 4k or video edit or office work etc.

Personally I think it's a pretty bogus question from the rip, a good salesman should assume you know absolutely nothing about pc's, until you prove otherwise, by asking valid questions like usage, budget, preference, needs, wants. Your answers will tell him exactly what he's looking for to build for you. After that it's semantics over what brands he prefers and why.
