What does the hd audio cable do?

As title says. I can't get to insert completely in the motherboard and i wanna make sure if it's useful anyway

Does your case have a headphone jack on the front somewhere? The HD Audio cable is for that.

One of the ports is filled in on the HD Audio plug , so make sure you are inserting it properly into the board.

I'm inserting it correctly. Still not going through all the way. I'll try using my earphones after i flash the OS
