What does this mean in a CPU?

I am buying this CPU-

In its specifications it is listed that it supports DDR3-1866 memory
What does it mean?

That means that it supports system Ram of DDR3 up to 1866 speeds. Most people would stick with DDR3 1600 System Ram.

You can get different types of memory (RAM)

For example, DDR, DDR2, DDR3, obviously this supports DDR3, the 1866 is just the speed of the RAM, I think the standard default of which RAM comes is @ 1600 (MHz), this supports RAM up to 1866MHz which is faster than the standard 1600MHz.

It's backwards compatible ofcourse, so there's no problem with having anything under 1866MHz RAM
