I have myself an old but trustworthy Vaio VPCCW27FX. the hard drive is crapping out on me so i just went ahead on got a SSHD for it.

I DONT WANT TO CLONE THE DRIVE AS WINDOWS IS MESSED UP.

I would just like to do a fresh install of windows 7 on it.

What drivers do I absolutely need for it to work?

Here is the website where you get them from : https://esupport.sony.com/US/p/model-home.pl?mdl=VPCCW27FX&template_id=1&region_id=1&tab=download#/downloadTab

I know you need
Audio
Video

but thats about it. Help will be appreciated.

Thanks!

Download app with driverpacks (9.53 GB) - the drivers are contained within the 9.53 GB

The program scans your system and shows you the devices that are missing drivers and has located, and devices that the program has located updated drivers for. You then select all or just the ones you want to install and it away it goes. Reboot when it's done and that's it.

Most other driver programs try to install junkware, this has none to install.
Audio, video, and Ethernet are the big ones. Windows will automatically install Microsoft drivers for whatever else it can, if it can't you'll see unknown devices in the device manager. At that point figure out what devices they are and download/install the specific driver from the link you posted. Or just go on ahead and download/install anything from the link that has the word "driver" in the description. Skip all the bloat ware programs and utilities.

Absolutely need:
Chipset (in Motherboard section)

Windows should install generic drivers but I think you should install these yourself.

-Touchpad
-Bluetooth (if you have and uses it)
-Network
-Wireless lan
-Card reader

I hate to say this, but when I googled that part number, all I got back were people posting about problems with that board. No drivers, no support sites, nothing. I have never ever had that happen before. Except for ancient things like Vic 20's and other things from the 1980s.

sorry VPCCW27FX

Do you have any input now that I have you the correct part number of VPCCW27FX

If you download the the whole thing, I think it's about 9.3GB. I use this religiously. It only installs drivers, no hidden crapware.

hmm the download i found was only a few MB. Ill look for the bigger one.
