What exactly is a backplate?

I'm going to get a new heatsink for my 6300 but i hear most of the heatsinks come with a backplate that goes under the motherboard?? ive never seen one.. can some1 sum up what exactly i will need to do?? will it work on my case?( http://www.apevia.com/product.php?pid=187 ) and motherboard? Some coolers come with them, some don't. Yes the backplate will work with your case and motherboard. All it is really is a thin stainless steel "X" shaped piece with rubber on one side that attaches over the 4 mounting holes to provide a little stiffness to the mobo at the point where the weight of an aftermarket cooler could bend it.

Not always X shaped but for LGA775 they usually are.

what can i expect when instaling the backplate?? am i gonna have to take out my motherboard ?

Yes you will have to take the mobo out. Unless you get a cooler that doesn't use a backplate such as the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro.
