Did you already buy the parts? I would advocate against buying an AMD FX-series processor in most cases.

Not even close with that CPU and GPU. I just used the GPU in a build and its good for low-medium. Go with a Core i3 don't waste your time with FX especially anything below FX -8300. If you can afford it even the entry level core i5 would make a huge difference compared to any FX CPU. I would look for a R9 280X if possible because it will give you the most bang for the buck under $200. Don't be afraid to look for one used just make sure it didn't come from a mining farm. RAM, HDD, Cooler, Case and PSU all look good. High to Ultra settings aren't as easy to achieve as one would think. As far as the games go well they all vary. For example I run a Xeon 1230v3 @ 3.5GHz, 16GB of RAM and a R9 390 and I still have to play with my settings to run Just Cause 3 at a constant 60fps.

I looked up several YouTube videos to see the performance of the CPU and GPU, and I thought they were pretty good options for entry level gaming.

And the only real problem with AMD FX processors is that they use up a lot of power and get really hot. I don't care too much about that. Intel processors are stupid expensive, so I went with the FX-4350.

I bought everything on the list except for the hard drive, graphics card, and operating system. If I had money for it, I would have gone with a decent core i5.

I don't know about a fx 4350 but fx 8350 for $200 is a lot better. If possible even go for an i5 4460.

If by beast you mean its one of the most power hungry CPU's on the market then you would be correct. Not only that but it can produce enough heat to warm a small room. It would be great if you actually did your homework before posting nonsense. The i5-4460? You know the i5-4590 which is 84w mind you is $200 as we speak. I love it when FX owners try to justify their purchase by pushing it on someone else. Why on earth would anyone buy a FX CPU right now? Its a dead socket and one of the worst series of CPU's and no one can deny that no matter what. The FX 8350 isn't beating any core i5 in gaming...period.

No one is going to sit here and run off a list of what games it will and what games it won't run at your desired settings. The question should be can I play "these games" at high to ultra settings at 60fps in which case the answer is still no regardless of the game unless it old. I do respect your need for a low budget. We've all been there. The FX-4350 is close to an Intel Core i3 of the Sandy Bridge/Ivy Bridge era in terms of performance - the FX has better multi-core performance but worse single core performance. It is unlocked, however, so you can reclaim the IPC by overclocking. The 212 EVO should be good for a decent boost in speed.

That GPU can play newer games at medium settings no problem. Won't break any speed records but is very efficient.

I would look at notebookcheck for a list of games. Keep in mind, in most cases the tested laptops would have faster CPUs in terms of IPC.

A FX-4350 and a GTX 750Ti can push most major titles of 2015 at medium settings. The real question is will it constantly hit 60fps? That answer is no. You are going to have major noticeable dips in framerate while gaming. When I signed up for these forums I was under the impression they were to help others make the right decision not mislead them. Potato, you are not going to get the results you are looking for with that CPU and GPU combo no matter how you slice it, dice it or overclock it...period. At the very least get a Core i3 and a GTX 960 if possible and that will put you closer to what you are looking for.

The 750ti can play all the modern games, just not at ultra settings, and maybe not at full 60, but still playable FPS.

But also the Haswell and Skylake i3s absolutely crush all the FX processors for game performance, and you don't need an expensive motherboard or aftermarket cooler to achieve still subpar performance from them.

GHz are a lie and mean nothing.

I sorta feel bad as no one "really" answered your question. All you got was flak for what components to use which isn't what you asked. Regardless there are few new released titles that you can run at Ultra 60fps (not including indie games) although some games will be able to pull off 30-40fps on high settings. With that said you have a very nice medium settings 1080p build. Hope you enjoy yourself my friend

Well after much research, I bought everything except the GTX 750ti and built my first gaming pc with an old GT 610 to hold me off until I can afford a GTX 950 from MSI. Most games I would like to play don't depend on the CPU as much as the GPU, like Warface, Planetside 2, Blacklight Retribution, and eventually CSGO and Battlefield 4 (or 5 or whatever comes out this year). I've looked up framerate test for this card and it seems like it can pack a serious punch for games from 2013 and older. Hopefully this settles any arguments about my choice of parts.

And thanks MSN740 for your sympathy, but now that I have the build, I now know with a GT 610, all I can do is play Gmod and Minecraft (Optifine) at 1080p 60fps. Other games are up to 40fps on low @ 720p.

What games can I run on this build?

You can actually run quite a few games at quite good resolution at 60FPS with that setup, of course, they aren't the latest or most demanding games, but you can run quite well a few very popular titles such as CS:Go, Team Fortress 2 etc. as they aren't very demanding. I even managed to run Team Fortress 2 at reasonable settings on my Macbook Air which has no graphics card and only a dual-core i5.

I haven't really found any problems with the mobo. It's pretty much all I need for now. My only gripe is the fact that there's only one slot for graphics cards.

To be honest one slot for a single GPU is all you need and want. Any graphics enthusiast will tell you that a single more powerful card solution is always best.
