What Gaming Setup Do You Think Is Better?

Why not go with the FX-6300 and ASRock 990FX Extreme3 AM3+ AMD 990FX SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard?

Roughly the same price, and a bit more power for your money!

Edit: I would go with a SeaSonic PSU to be honest

I find this build much more attractive:
Go with the fx 6300. It is literally $2 more, and offers much better performance.
Radeon 7870xt is ~10 to 20% faster than the 7870ghz, actually a low 79xx card(you can oc' it and reach 7950 performance)
Threw in a cpu cooler, because why not oc'?
RAM is RAM, why spend more?
The xalman case has better reviews; you don't want nice parts and a crappy box, also its still cheap.
the hdd is cheaper, and still good.

A newer version of the same mobo. And cheaper.

Here! I'll do you one better!

FX-6300 Of course :)

A much better/newer mobo for a little more

Vengeance RAM is fine, I'm running 16GB at 1600 OC'd atm.

BAM! I was even able to fit a NICE SSD in there for you!! Along with a 1TB secondary HDD :bounce:

This Video Card is a BEAST. Its practically a 7950. Read the reviews if you don't believe me. It uses the same Tahiti chip that the 7900 series does...basically your getting a 7900 series for the price of a 7800. YES PLEASE!! (Only reason why I didn't get one is because EVERYONE was sold out when i bought my rig..and i was a little impatient! )

The Coller Master HAF series is AWESOME, versatile, modular, adaptable, HIG AIR FLOW, BIG, Tool-less, and recommended by the best techs around (Linustechtips, techoftommorow, Markeedragon, Techsyndicate, etc.)

SeaSonic is best PSU around.

This rig will blow any other you've considered or have been suggested OUT OF THE WATER!
Cheers and Good Luck!

Solution

Sorry for the big quotes, but you forgot he needed an os. He could go for the better mobo, and still have money left.
Also, the xfx psu IS a seasonic psu, in a xfx case. look it up. I'd stick with the cheaper ram, as it will most likely perform the same at a lower price.

HAHA! No I didn't forget the Operating System. But just like the optical drive, who ever figures that in with their build 😉 😉 😉

I would agree with the RAM part, Go with cheaper...just READ REVIEWS!!!

As far as the XFX, do you have any sources confirming this? This is the first I'm EVER hearing of this.

"with caps lock on"? Sorry if it is irritating. Im just trying to contribute. And "lack of knowledge" how? Just because I didnt know that XFX is SeaSonic? Isn't that what communities like this is for? Improving our knowledge?

If you read my above posts I've made sound suggestions. Sorry if your irritated.
