Hi I have a FM2A68M-DG3+ motherboard and I was wondering if a Nivida GTX 1070-ti would be compatible with it? or what good GPU would be compatible with it
The problem is that, your CPU is going to limit the performance of the GPU and CPU heavy games will mostly struggle to run smoothly. If you can bear with that till your platform upgrade, then you can go for it.
The more relevant question is, what your CPU can support. That is an old and obsolete platform. So, unless you are planning to change to a recent gen. platform like Ryzen or CoffeeLake, you should not think beyond a gtx 1050.

I am also going to be upgrading the CPU when I get a new GPU. I just want to be able to play games like Rust, Black ops 4, Destiny 2, ARK, ETC

I am also going to be getting a better CPU and not just have the one the PC came with
