What GPU should I get?

Here is my setup, I need to know what GPU I should get. Right now I am having the problem on my GeForce GTX 550 Ti, that it is not supporting the games I want to play. It makes my computer crash so kinda another question as well. Do I need a new GPU or a new PSU?

Setup:
Intel I5-7600K 3.8Ghz
16GB Ram
GeForce GTX 550 Ti
600W Power Supply

What is your budget? I think a rx 580 or gtx 1060 will be a good gpu for that system, you can also put in a gtx 1070, but those are a good bit more expensive than a 1060 or 580.

What PSU do you have?

Not exactly sure but I believe its an Apevia ATX as600w-gn. I don't want to spend more then 300 but if I needed to no more than 400.

and i think 1060 6GB is what your looking for : Nvidia GTX 1060-6GB
get one with good cooler and if you want to spend less get Nvidia GTX 1060-3GB

Doesn't seem like the best PSU, but seems like it will do the job. How old is it though?

For less than 300 you can have a gtx 1060 6gb or rx580 8gb and you will be fine. You can check some gameplay benchmarks of the i5 7600 and gtz 1060 and see if it satisfies you.

Ah, 3 years should be fine, deciding between rx580 and gtx 1060 is hard, both are equel where the gtx 1060 pulls slightly ahead, but AMD tends to age better and gives better/longer support on their products.

Anyway, search some benchmarks between the two and decide from there on, good luck

you mean rx 570
rx 580 is twice the price of 1060 !
and 1060 is better than rx570

replace it before it blows and takes your nice new card with it

GTX 1060 with 6GB could have better longevity although 3GB would save money for a better PSU.

And good luck finding an RX card right now.
