I don't the 7900xtx has issues. the 7900xtx is out of the OP's budget so it doesn't matter.
@Order 66, from some of the reviews I saw on Amazon and some searching, I read some things about the 7900XTX having more driver/crashing issues on average, but I didn't research it deeply. It's outside my budget too! Lol.

I thought mentioning it at all was more relevant to giving the OP a perspective on the "nearby" GPUs closest to his ask:

7700XT
7800XT
4070
4070Ti
7900XT
7900XTX

That's fair, I just didn't want to be the one to get yet another thread off-topic. I have a terrible habit of getting off-topic on threads.

Hi Oskeii,

Your question aligns similarly to what I am thinking about. My advice is to go for the 7800XT. It costs less than a 7900XT and seems to have less issues than something like the 7900XTX.

The 7800XT is more than enough for 1440p. Your main concern for GPU, beside cost, would be utilization. Do you care about raw performance or fancy lighting? If raw performance, 7800XT. If fancy lighting (in some titles), 4070.

Disregard "bottle necking." Components are so powerful these days that it's irrelevant. This is coming from someone who used to be obsessed with the term.

Use pcpartpicker or any other wattage calculator to determine your necessary PSU wattage and add 50-100 to it for head room. I hope this helps.
Thanks Hunter!!
