What GPU to get for my processor

What GPU fits best with an Intel 3230M quad core processor that can go up to 3.2 GHz? It's balanced at 2.6 GHz but with turboboost the max gets to 3.2. It's in my laptop and I think it's hyperthreaded too.

I'm planning on installing an external GPU with a mini PCI-adapter.

Price point? games? the cpu probably won' bottle neck at all so go for whatever you can get, what external gpu attachment system are you going to use?

Omg, I down voted your answer apparently. Sorry, I don't know how to use this forum.

Anyways, I want to use a mini PCI-express adapter. Specifically the one from BangGood. I just bought a used Asus Nvidia Geforce Gtx 540 ti to use on it.

Yes this should work however performance will not be 100% since the laptop has to output to the card via strange connectors, when you get it ensure to keep the packaging in case it does not work as I can imagine glitches and problems occurring with 3rd party hardware.

Exactly how well should it work though? Will I get out 80% of the performance? 50, 60...?
