Okay, so I want a gpu which is able to run bf4 @ ultra settings with 45+ fps at least.

So here's my system:
8gb corsair ram
1tb hard drive
amd fx 6350
asus m5a78l-m
gpu-???

So yeah,I want think gpu to be around the £200 mark, so any recommendations? The budget is really improtant to keep down but i have about £180 to spend on a gpu but i can always splash out. Any other recommendations would be appreciated, thanks.

I have a 7970 and on the beta my fps ranged from 50 - 90. That's on ultra, full AA etc. A 7950 would certainly do well, but I doubt it would keep 45+ fps constant, you'd probably see something like 40 - 70.

Okay thanks, but how come that 7950 is so much cheaper compared to the other makes of it, does it mean it's bad or will it still be able to handle bf4?

Hi,
I might help you here, since i have a 7950 and have played beta.
With a little overclock (1000 core) i was able to play it wery comfortable at arround 55-70 fps. when the building fell i had over 45 fps without a problem. (all at ultra over 50 fps)
What you should know.... is that that was BETA. When they will release bf4 it will provide considerably more fps. It is an amazing gpu, but i recomend at least a little overclock to unleash it. However the next best amd gpu would be r9 280x... i would recomend taking a peek at that one too.

Would the mobo support an overclock , or is it too weak, but what about straight out of the box, no overclock, how would that run bf4 beta on ultra?

i can't find the link... im sorry. i saw one today. 7950 had 50fps avg. no oc. (at ultra)

edit:
found something.

however after the first week of beta there was an update that increased the fps for AMD. that benchmark has 4xMSAA and everything on. without that you would get over 55 fps.
trust me on this, at this price range 7950 is more than amazing. bf4 release will be optimised and worked on, so 60+ fps will be no problem. search for 7950 benchmarks, im sure you will like it

I have to say that my 1000 mhz core 7950 is at least 10 fps more than these benchmarks. and that should be achieved with any motherboard. the card can go to 1150-1200 so 1000 is not pushing it

Code:
last year 7950 was a card that everyone said will be future proof for 2-3 years. that statement still stands. r9 280x is the next one, just a little more expensive but with 2-3 years of running any game in ultra full hd. nvidia are better but more expensive. for the 200-300 $ nvidia doesnt offer much.
ask 7950 users. this card is banging for that price

owever that 7950 was the overclocked/ boosted one, not the one i'm getting
