What changes would i have to make to have it run games like starcraft 2 and Diablo 3.
Thanks.

Hey thanks, i guess i will recommend that to him.
Just a last question before i close of the thread. How do i figure out what card will work. Depending on pins etc. Is there any way. or can i just use any card that can be run by a 400w psu and fits in a PCI express x16 slot?

Yup, PCI-e is backwards compatible, so a 3.0 card will even work in a 1.1 slot (maybe not a 1.0, I haven't heard anything stating it has or has not worked) never really looked though :/

The PSU 4/6/8pin are the power connectors, sort of like molex/sata, doesn't matter what its hooked up to, it simply provides power.

Just make sure you don't plug in the PCI-E into the EPSV12 (the cpu sockets 4 or 8pin) or vice versa.

The thing that shows what the actual socket is, is "usually" noted by the # (such as x16 would be longer than a x1, this is not true in all cases, some mobo manufacturers make full sized 4x)

All PCI-E cards fit the same slot, sort of like how all DDR3 memory fits any DDR3 socket.

Just don't get a PCI or AGP card, those do not work at all in that slot (won't even match up)

APparently i bought the card and opened up the computer to install the card. There is no x16 card slot. There is a marking for the slot but no physical slot like the PCI slots. ANy ideas on what i should do.

That's very common on business model PCs.

I wish you would've included that picture in your original post. I also thought that you would have checked before you purchased the graphics card.

That printed circuit board is used in more than one motherboard model. There is most likely another Intel motherboard model out there that uses that exact same motherboard but has the PCIe x16 socket soldered on but selling at a higher price.

On your specific model Intel left the PCIe x16 socket off to save themselves some money because the board is intended for use in business PCs that only use the integrated graphics processor on the motherboard's chipset.

Your only options are to return the graphics card or replace the motherboard with one that has a PCIe x16 slot.
