What Graphic card should i get

hey this is my first time here so heres how it goes,


i got Intell(R) Core(TM) i7 920 @ 2.67ghz processor
Asus Rampage gene II motherboad
4GB DDR3 Ram 1337
and a really crappy graphic card
nvidia 8600 1gb

plz plz suggest me a good decent graphic card which ican use for 2 - 5 years and not worry about changing
i have already spent alot on the PC and i forgot about GFX card

all the games have lesss FPS and lag like HELL..

PS: MY OS is windows xp 32 bit only 3 gb is used out of 4 is VISTA 64 good OR windows 7 ?? plz do let me know

no im kidding u get what u can aford just buy the best graphic card you can since u will upgrade the monitor sometime and probably the pc

@ Swarraws: Like you said in your first post, it's a good rig, just lacking in the graphics side.
As things stand, I'd suggest getting a HD4850 and start saving for a monitor/card upgrade later. Bear in mind, the 4850 can run most games at high settings on a 16x10 monitor and give playable framerates at lower settings, even at 1920x1080.

The HD4870 is a very potent card, especially the 1Gb version but check the cooler, this card is also known for running hot and many of the non-reference coolers dump their heat into the case.
