Forget the 7990 , the card has nothing but issues with some games and is not worth the hassle.
Grab a 780 or 780ti and call it a day, they overclock really well and run cool and quiet compared to the 280/X
If you can afford a 780ti by all means get it, it will play anything you throw at it without any heat or sound issues, later on you will be able to use G-Sync Monitors and also shadow play.
My pick would also be the EVGA ACX 780ti
Too many fanboys on this site...

Just thinking, if AMD will give you the same quality as Nvidia (I understood from a lot of users that "green" products are a bit better), the products would be at about the same price.
This will mean no more competition, so prices would sky-rocket.

Sorry, but I actually respect AMD for what they are trying to do, and I really disrespect Nvidia for being so money-hungry.
This is why my first ever dedicated GPU I`ll buy will be one from the red team.

Either way, I usually stand more for the underdog, and AMD does seem like a Robin Hood in the GPU market...

Amd has been the RED-headed step child in the pc game for along time. They just never can quite get their shit together, I really hope they get the 290x fixed up cause they performance numbers they put up are rather nice and not a terrible price if its fixed.

couldn't have said it better myself. Really no matter the red or green team they both have problems. ive had a gtx 480 and 3 570's the 480 was also a heater much like the 290x with terrible drivers and all 3 of my asus 570's died within 1 year. as for the red team only one has died and it was my fault (msi 7970 OC'd to 1375/1750) so red team has been best to me.
