They are functionally the same, I never said they weren't. HOWEVER, due to the differences in clock speeds the GTX560 is faster then the GTX460. Link me a review where the GTX460 and 560 score the same. Should be really easy if they are the same cards.

If you had bothered to read what I wrote you'd know I said the GTX560 should perform close to the GTX470. Which is faster then the GTX460.

I'd also suggest to keep it clean, no need for the personal attacks. Though I agree he is just trolling so unless he replies like he is serious I'm done with him.

Clocks speeds are bound to the architectures that enable them so to put it simply GTX 580 will always be faster @ 700mhz than a GTX 570 @ 850mhz or a GTX 560ti @ 1ghz etc and GTX 460 can overclock just as well msi HAWK GTX 460 will bang with any GTX 560 and prob the HAWK 460 is even a better OCer being the power phases and cooling and higher binned parts etc. Put a Ferrari Motor in a rusted out 1989 Dodge Caravan it's still a rusted out Dodge Caravan POS.

I like the part where Gordon claims that the 6870 tades blows with the gtx 560ti, and after onwing both (of which im sure youve owned neither) it does not, especially when you consider the fact that when oc'ed the gtx 560ti comes damn close to the gtx 570...

your talking out of your ass, your essentially 1 tier off

Funny cause 560ti cost allot more but a 6870 OC can hang with it in majority of games so .... ya 560ti should be tons faster but it isn't. Sure you can OC a 560ti and get an addition 5-7fps in most games but once again its not much value for the money still a good card tho and I would get one on sale for sure.

A 460 and 560 can be "functionally the same" but be totally different.

Example: Acura RSX and RSX Type S. Both are the same body with 2.0L inline 4 cylinder Vtec K series engines, but the Type S has 40 more horse power. Nobody with a brain would call them the same car.

Can't believe I had to check this thread again ><

That's not the case between the 460 and 560 and the type S is like a different car/parts tires, rims, Cam Shafts etc with the same basic body style whereas the 560 shares all the same parts and nothing more or less than a 460 with an Overclock on them with a new name. PS the re badged name is what adds the slight boost in in the 560 power not the Overclock LOL JK. :) Nvidia does have great sales marketing and lots of fans to make them more than the sum of there parts. PS 460 was and is the best card Nvidia ever made that's why its still kicking around albeit reincarnate GTX560.

a 560ti can oc to 570 levels while a 6870 can oc to sub 6950 levels so what is your point? Im not saying that the 6870 does not perform well but you just continue to paint an inaccurate picture and again you are 1 tier off in your thinking..

the fact that this many people are continually correcting you and you still dont understand is beyond me, have fun with your ignorance!

In reality today 6970 is getting pretty close in performance to GTX 580 and 6950 competes with GTX 570 etc Radeon cards have got better with matured drivers whereas Nvidia has not improved as much or rather as fast plus factor in the additional power draw, heat and price Nvidia commands over Radeon and well you get the point.

*Too.

And you, sir, are deluded. 560 Ti trades blows with the 6950. 570 trades blows with the 6970. 580 was undisputed king until 7970 and now trades blows with 7950.

LOL and 6950 x2 costs less money, heat, and power draw and creams all over GTX 580. 6970 is close enough in performance to GTX 580 to be within margin of error when you add in the fact 6970 is $200 cheaper draws less power and heat etc and GTX 580 is just a moronic card all around unless the price was right and it never was even close to being decent. Both a die shrink and price drop for Nvidia is what is desperately in order and only then will they be on the same level as Radeon hope Kelper does something right cause Nvidia has been off base for a long time.
