What is your current gpu? How does it handle gaming on that monitor now? Can you get by for a few months at lower resolutions if need be?

At this point in their lifecycles, I wouldn't go less than a 1070 or Vega56 for 4k gaming, even then a 1070ti/1080/Vega64 is preferable. 1060/RX580 is better for 1440p or lower, while they can produce playable framerates on low and maybe even med settings for 4k, if you keep up with newer releases, you may be disappointed in your gpu sooner than you'd hope for a new purchase.

Nvidia is supposed to have a press event on August 20th and it is assumed the 11xx series release date will be given, but who knows. So if your current card is getting you by, maybe wait a week or so and see what they say. You...

Nvidia is supposed to have a press event on August 20th and it is assumed the 11xx series release date will be given, but who knows. So if your current card is getting you by, maybe wait a week or so and see what they say. You may be better off waiting, either to get the newer card or hopefully price drops on current cards (but who knows, with their current gpu pricing, they may just release newer cards at higher prices with little drops on current stock). Also, people will be upgrading, so more used cards on the market to hopefully drop some prices.

Otherwise, that site has an Asus Cerebus 1070ti for 619.99, so like 465 after your 25% back, and a MSI Armor 1080 for $709.99, so 532 after 25% back. From that site, you are only saving 40 by dropping to a 1070, really just 30 after the 25% back. So either get one of the above (price match to other sites as well), or wait for the announcement next week if its not too late for that 25% back deal and you aren't in a rush to upgrade.
