What happened to the flight from Malaysia to Beijing?

In your valuable opinion what really happened to the flight from Malaysia to Beijing China?

We are building a couple of aircraft carriers tho technically they are for helicopters ... we should have bought one of the old US supercarriers (non-nuclear) and refitted it with new paint etc ... I am pretty sure they have 7 or so mothballed somewhere.

Those older carriers were a fantastic platform.

We should have one stationed on the West coast for this sort of thing ... and for fishing on weekends ... parties ... an extra wifi point ... the peaceful uses are endless.

Damn, seems like it'd be an easier search, if there was an air craft carrier out there for planes to land on, re-fuel, and then take off, even if it was multiple smaller search planes.

the search area is massive (http://www.statista.com/chart/2024/the-search-area-for-missing-mh370/), and so far we don't even know if the parts spotted on the satellite pics are even related to the plane. The area where the parts where spotted seems to be an area where a lot of garbage and lost parts float around - many times containers or other large cargo just falls off the side of ships

Take 5 odd hours to get out there ... which if they left at dawn means about an hou to get to the search site now ... then they only have enough fuel for a couple of hours in the P3's then they have to come back.

The P8 the yanks have can stay a bit longer.

If we are lucky and the weather gets better they might know more in a couple of hours but its a big area.

No, they don't. And you can't land a P3/P8 on a carrier in any case. Too large.

If a US Navy carrier was in the area they would be using E-2Cs and A-6 Intruders. A-6s are still a very capable aircraft for being as old as it is. The refitted A-6s with the latest ELINT package could be effective.

I think it's pretty dumb that they put all the effort into making those black boxes virtually indestructible, but they only signal for 30 days. I'm starting to think time is going to run out on this one, and they may never find out what happened to this plane.

Two Chinese planes rocked up today to help ... read the official story on the chinese website which looks like they have come to lead the search and takeover ... with their two old 1970 vintage jets made in the USSR.

I think the Malaysian Government is hiding something from these poor people waiting for some kind of answers. The M. Government owns this airline as you know.

Actually I think they are just running and ducking for cover ... apart from the turnaround and transponder issue they should have alerted people to straight away, instead of waiting nearly a week. They have contributed nothing, and continue to contribute nothing but rhetoric.

So much for them handling the search and rescue ... they couldn't handle a pissup in a brewery.

When your family has been in power as long as Gadaffi you don't really care what others think, unless they threaten your power base.

What Malaysia need is a new Govt ... even if it is as bad as messy old Thailand, surely its better than the current "royal family".

The country might be relatively stable but it is corrupt and as transparent as a brick window.

In particular the relatives of those on the plane have not been counselled, reassured and made as comfortable as possible.

Malaysia I am horrified to see has little understanding of the Chinese, and how to reassure their families.
