Hey Guys,

Just for curiosity's sake, what ever happened with the X79 Chipsets, for LGA 2011 socket CPU's , 1150 still seems to still be the most popular amongst the DDR3 motherboards, and since the release of LGA 2011 v3 chipsets running on DDR4 , i've felt that X79 chipsets have sort of been pushed away.

I personally , built a X99 chipset build with a 5960x , but when i was doing my research, i struggled to find any thing for X79 and LGA2011 , or maybe its just in Australia where i live.

Curious to know what everyone thinks, and if there is actually any news regarding the X79 chipsets

x79 has been replaced by the updated x99 chipset. I'm not sure what "news" you are looking for. Motherbds are still available but its not like Intel is going to pump out an updated x79 chip when it doesnt even have native usb3 support and only 2 sata3 ports...
