I will post my current PC specs below and I am wondering what parts I can buy that will increase my gaming performance (FPS). I am looking to spend up to but no more than $1000. What do you guys recommend I get? The games I play usually are Rust, DayZ, Minecraft, etc... Here are my current specs:

OS: Windows 10 Pro 64-Bit
CPU: Intel i5 8600k @3.6Ghz
RAM: 16Gb Corsair @1199Mhz
Motherboard: MSI z370 Gaming Plus
Graphics: GTX GeForce 1060 6Gb
Storage: 1 Tb hard drive (not ssd)
Power Supply: 650 W power supply

Thank you guys! Again looking to spend up to $1000 to get the best performance thank you

Replace the 1060 with something like the 2060/2070/2080 from the enwer SUPER lineup.
right now the best performance, while usually a bit better on thermals/power consumption than amd,
for that you pay a little premium...
but without knowing resolution/graphics settings you want to use, we cant say if the cpu (might be) a possible bottleneck.
