What improvements can be made on this build

My friend wants to get into PC gaming and his mom gave a budget of $500. I'm not sure how the performance of this would be, I focused on the CPU and GPU so everything else isn't the best. Maybe go for the Ryzen 5 1600.

You have the incompatabilities warning because of the B350 motherboard. There is a very small possibility that it won't boot because it needs a BIOS update. A B450 board would avoid that problem.
An RE4 disk drive is a fairly old model. It doesn't say refurb or anything in the listing on Amazon, but it is a concern I might have. It says 5 year warranty, but it is a 3+ year old model.
