What is a 4+4 CPU connector?

Hello,

I was wondering whether a 4+4 CPU connector was 2x4 pin connectors or one 8 pin.

It's two 4pins. Some motherboards only have a 4pin CPU power connector, in that case you would only use 1 4pin. Other motherboards have an 8pin for CPU power, in that case you would use both 4pins.
