Hey guys, i have a gtx 970 and a monitor called Acer G276HL Dbmid 27-Inch Screen LED-Backlit Monitor and it is only 60 hz? So i am only locked down to 60 fps. Don't you guys think that is a waste?

What is a good gaming monitor? Do you guys think i can get the Samsung 4k screen and still play the new gen games in 1080P just incase my graphic card can't handle it?

Australia? Well, that will change the prices a bit, lol, I wish I knew sooner. As for 1440p gaming, it is good if you got like 970 SLI, you can max it and have lots of fun at a level above 1080p, 1x 970 is also good, just won't be as good as 970 SLI obviously. So is it worth it? Right now yes it is if you want better graphics, but if you want higher Hz, you'll have to stick with 1080p 144Hz, because there is only 1 monitor that is 1440p 144Hz and that's probably close to $750 in Australian prices. I don't think you wanna spend that much on a monitor, lol.

Here is...
One thing to consider also is just what games you play. If you are avid mine craft player, a 144Hz monitor will do exactly nothing for you, or even games like Skyrim or borderlands etc, where ultra detailed graphics are secondary to performance, won't do much there either. Games like Battlefield, yes. It'll look much better and smoother vrs a 60Hz. As far as resolution goes, the higher resolutions get much cleaner pictures and will show much better details, if the games support such, otherwise in simple graphics you just get a bigger view on screen.
