What is a good sound card, not an enthusiast.

Nothing that specific, i plan on getting a 5.1 surround soon, but currently I have a razer headset carcharias, and was hoping to getting them sounding a little better/louder for the time being.

A good soundcard, is already the onboard one on your motherboard. If you are going over the touble of getting a soundcard, get a great one, and you can find freat one around this price range from Creative

Not much point in a sound card for those headphones, especially from Razer, all gaming headphones have crap audio drivers.

Don't buy that, the front panel thing is a gimmick and does not work well at all, I've had one of those before, just buy the card by itself if you wanted a recon3D.

Anything from Asus/Xonar/Creative is good. Beware creative's driver support though. They have great cards but they don't support the product.

Recon3D's are garbage and creative even said so which is why they released the "true" successor to the X-FI line of cards called the Creative Sound Blaster Z. They came out in December of last year:

Friend, X-fi is a great chip. And as mentioned above, there is already the sucesso wich is the Sound Blaster Z, you can get any x-fi card and you will be happy, but I totally recomend getting a Sound Blaster Z. and then you will have this card for the next 10 years
