I know that the M version was released, but I'm interested in the desktop version. I'm gonna be building a computer in the next few months, and I'd kind of like to have a very recent GPU in my system, seeing as I won't be able to upgrade it for awhile.

So if you have any information, or an educated guess, please let me know 😀

all the rumors say anywhere from q1 to q4 of this year. personally i think that it will be around 2 months after they release the 790. and that is rumored to be towards the end of this month so i would say june or july as my guess.

I was considering SLI (which I've never done) for my 660 TI but I'm really torn because I'd have to upgrade my PSU as I don't think 850 would cut it, plus I'm having a hard time finding used 660 tis around here. I have a guy willing to pay $150 for my card and I can grab a new 770 for $350 down the road and not have to upgrade the PSU. I know my mobo would be fine for SLI (Maximus Hero) but I could also just wait for the 800s. Argh decisions!!!!!!

*Down the road as in literally down my road, not "in the future". Lol

I've got a 560 ti and FX 8350 atm and was planning a build recently to upgrade to an R9 280x and i5 4690k. Is it worth waiting around until the 800 series come out? My budget is ~ $250, so would an 800 series nvidia card that price be worth waiting for?

No way in hell 880 will cost $250, I bet it will be twice that amount at least. If your current situation is intolerable upgrade now, otherwise waiting is a good option, since prices on the current hardware should drop once new generation releases.

I wasn't talking specifically about the GTX 880. I said NVIDIA 800 series which includes 860, 870, 880, etc.
