what is an interal 3.5 bay and an external 5.25 bay

Just checking what these are because I'm new into computers and I'm checking out those mini itx's. Is the external 5.25 the place where you put CD drive, and the internal 3.5's where you put an ssd and an hdd drive?

Yes, the external 5 1/4" is where the optical drive goes, and internal 3 1/2" is for the hard drive or SSD w/bracket.
