Hello, i purchased recently some new parts and i will salvage my prebuilt as much as i can to my new case, i guess this will be my first time putting together a PC by myself and i was wondering what would be the best layout to install the extra 3 fans that i grabbed with my case.

The case i purchased is called Phanteks XT PRO ULTRA, comes with 4 preinstalled 140mm case fans, 3 at the front for intake and 1 at the back for exhaust, the fans i ordered are 3x120mm and possibilities are to put them in the midplate or to the top of the case, however i am confused where should i put them for best cooling and should they all be intake or exhaust.
The new case
The 3x120mm fans i purchased

I will have a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 12GB & i5-12400F with a Blackstorm Luna 4PS-120MM ARGB cooler combo in this case, i don't know if that matters but i will mention it.

With an air cooler for the CPU the only additional place you would likely get any benefit over the stock fan installation is a single fan exhausting at the top in the furthest back position. You want to keep air movement away from the intake on the CPU cooler as that causes turbulence and if you had all exhaust across the top it would remove fresh air being brought in from the front.

edit: noticed there's fan mounts on the PSU shroud and depending on the clearance you could install the other two there.

3 fans in top furthest to back should be exhaust then the next after that exhaust and furthest to the front near the power buttons should be intake.

the ones on the bottom of the case i would only install slim 120mm fans they would be set so the fan blades are set upwards pushing air towards the gpu.

So as of right now i only have 3x120 mm fans since the place i ordered from only had 1 in stock, i have had some problems with my current case when it comes to my GPU, i remember the worst it ever got was around 100°C and it caused the fans in it to sound like a jet engine, i cleaned it best i could but can't really get in there cause i kinda destroyed the screw cap by trying to open it but it's like glued in there, i also swapped the thermal paste which helped quite a bit with temps but the card does still make lots of noise when i play games.

My CPU and other thermals seem to do well in my current setup with 3 different size fans and side panel open (not by choice, its a trash prebuilt which is why i'm upgrading) and i'm just wondering if its more beneficial for me to have all 3 of the fans installed on the midplate to blow air inside the GPU to maybe help with cooling or should i go with 2 exhausts and 1 intake near the front intakes, the midplate is little confusing to me because then i would have 6 intakes and 1 exhaust, not sure if that is good.

My parts will arrive tomorrow since stuff doesn't get delivered on weekends atleast here in Finland, i struggled so much with my current PC to install 2 fans which absolutely destroyed my fingers and i'm not looking forward to a round 2, however this case atleast sounds like it will be MUCH easier to install stuff into.

so what temps are you actually hitting because the screw is stripped what i assume you mean is the gpu heatsink it might actually be not tight enough if your getting huge temp swings.

With more demanding games like New World & Black Ops 6 the temp seems to jump up to 85-90, i can see underneath the GPU that it has dust in there but that bottom cover is what has the stripped screw so i can't do anything else but carefully use a air can to get rid of some dust, i do have a spare screw set so if it was possible to get the stripped one off that could solve some temp issues, however i can't see that make a huge difference concidering i have blasted alot of the dust off and used Q-tips to clean the fan blades.

Currently i have like a 92mm single stock fan blowing air towards the GPU from the front but i doubt it does much for cooling, especially since the side panel can't be closed due to the cooler being too big but the temps were high also with the panel closed.
