What is better nvidia 470 vs 460

i want to sli them and im not sure what is better for the bang and the buck. any help is appreciated

If you want to SLI them I would probably go with the 460s becuase they run so much cooler and take less engery.

However what case and powersupply do you have?

Double or triple? To my understanding the 460 can only do double, but if that is what you are after I agree that the 460 seems a better way to go.

We would need to know much more to even begin to answer that question. What is your monitor's resolution? Do you want to switch to 3 monitor gaming any time in the foreseeable future? How much do you have to spend? What kind of processor do you have? What is the brand/model of your power supply? Does your case have good air flow?
In general they are both good deals for the money. Only you can decide whether the extra money is worth the extra performance for you personally. Unless your resolution is over 1920x1200 the best choice is probably to just save some money and get a single GTX 470 and overclock it. Anything more is just overkill really.

For the money, GTX460 is a way to go. Make sure you get a 1gb version.

With GTX 470s going for as little as $260 after rebate honestly I think it is the better deal for the money.

if sli, 460 should be good enough. if you like best performance and don't care cost or even consider triple way, go get 470. when you select 470, remember don't pick reference card like. somehow nvidia don't know how to make reference card. new gigabyte 470 is what I recommended.

I'd like to see a benchmark of MSI Twin Frozr vs that Superoverclcoked Gigabyte. They both seem like great versions.

You don't need benchmarks. They still use the same processor. The real question is which can be OCed the highest.
