What is better Spanning two drives or raid 0

I have 2 drives one 2012 wd caviar blue 500gb and one 2013 wd black 1tb drive I want both drives to be one large volume a big 1.5 tb drive. So is it better to do raid 0 or a spanned volume.

Neither is a good option. Raid 0 will get you a 1tb array with 500gb of the 1tb drive not being used. Concatenating the drives will offer no real benefits and can cause more harm than good.

Just use both individually. It isn't recommended to RAID drives that are different makes/models.
