What is dedicated memory in igpu?

I have a hp envy laptop.
For the integrated graphics total available size is 8gb but dedicated is only around 128mb and shared memory is also 8gb.What exactly is dedicated memory and will increasing improve any performance?

That is what it is defined as. In simple terms the graphics card has its own memory which is what it uses to process the pixels on the screen

This is a completely and totally incorrect answer to this question.

OP in your case your system only has integrated graphics (iGPU) so it shares memory with your total system memory. The system has dedicated (reserved) 128mb of the system memory to the iGPU (which can only be used by the iGPU), but the full amount is shared so in theory the iGPU can expand that to what it needs. That said the system is favored first over the iGPU, you can force more memory to the iGPU but it won't increase the performance, in fact it could cause it to perform worse. Theres only specific applications where doing this is required to allow it to work.

You didn't really read the question op asked, or read it wrong. OP didn't ask anything about dedicated graphics cards and separate memory, he asked about the system dedicated 128mb and 8Gb shared memory of the igpu. Which, the cpu portions out 128mb as dedicated solely for igpu usage out of the 8Gb, the remaining 7.8Gb is shared, so can be used by either the igpu or cpu as needed. This can be changed, dedicating more than 128mb of ram, but that separates less for cpu usage, potentially bottlenecking the cpu with lack of ram, or possibly allowing virtual ram setup on the hdd, killing performance.
