Why do mouse companies advertise 16000 dpi on mouses, when 3000 dpi is too much for anything? Is there something that 16000 dpi is used for except for spinning around like crazy in games?

Yeah but isn't a sensor with higher dpi more expensive? Couldn't they focus on the quality and accuracy rather than spending the money on sensors with more dpi?

It doesn't have to actually HAVE 16000 dpi.
They just have to SAY that, and not actually suck.

Go on...show me the actual difference between 8000 and 16000, in your hand.
Take 2 otherwise identical rodents, one at 8000 and one at 16000. Blind test, identify which is which....

That number just has to be a little bigger than the other guys number.

Quality and accuracy cost $$ as well.
