what is Jedec timing table

hi,

so cpu-z game those spec for my crucial ram 12gb ddr3-12800 1600 cl11 does it mean i have 6 choices timing possible?

why should i choose jedex 1 and why jeddex 6 ?

Your RAM has recommended timings for 6 different clock speeds. This helps with compatibility. You would generally use the highest clock speed your motherboard would support -- 800Mhz if your motherboard supports it.

SPD TABLES gives your computer default modes to run the RAM with timing to run your memory at depending on what speed you select. All speeds listed in Mhz are the base clock which is half of the advertised speed because it is DDR memory and has clock doubling tech so what is called 800Mhz in JEDEC #6 is effectively 1600Mhz and that is what the RAM manufacturers will advertise the RAM at. Now JEDEC tables are standard timings programmed into the SPD tables of the RAM. They tell the computer what settings to run the ram at for certain speeds.
