Recently my pc become dead. After i visited service center they told be that the memory controller and GPU got damaged. They said gpu is not serviceable but memory controller can be replaced for about 7$ but after the service my pc worked but i checked every point of MOBO i couldn't find any new part. They cheated me or i missed to find the part.
How this memory controller looks?
And one more thing, is gpu can be serviced and my fan is running.

What mobo? If it's an older one like a socket 775 the memory controller is part of a chip on the mobo (the NB chipset) - if it's a newer mobo 1156, 1366, 1155, 1150, 1151, 2001 then there is no MC (memory controller) on the mobo it's in the CPU. Was there a labor charge?
