What is "Memory Standard"?

I have not built a computer in 5yrs and when I look at MOBO's they list "memory standard" and I have 2x4gb of Kingston 1600 Id like to use but some of the boards don't list that they only list higher numbers like
Memory Standard: DDR3 3200(OC)/3100(OC)/3000(OC)/2933(OC)/ 2800(OC)/2666(OC)/2600(OC)/2500(OC)/2400(OC)/2200(OC)/2133(OC)/

Will my memory work in these boards or what does it mean exactly?

You memory will work. The board also support higher freq. of memory

DDR is the standard you are referring to. It should come before the ram speed

DDR[1/2/3][Ram Speed] is the format. ex > DDR3 1866

You need to state the version of the standard your ram uses in order to ascertain whether it will work in newer motherboards.

You shouldn't give answers without knowing the details. He hasn't stated the motherboard he is using nor the standard of ram he has. That's asking him to throw money away.

Mine says its Kingston HyperX 2x4 DDR3-1600 cl9 so will this work in boards that use DDR3 even if they just list higher numbers or do they have to list DDR3 1600 ?

Yes they should work, most all newer DDR3 based mobos default to 1333 or 1600

Yes, it will work it they are listing faster ram speeds. Just make sure the motherboard supports DDR3 (which is pretty much every motherboard) and you are good to go!
