What is NetGear1's default security passphrase if u never change it. This is 4 the wireless router.

It might default to a WEP key if it has one at all and that isn't strong enough. Use the details in here http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/28102-18-suppoort-setupwirless to pp in and take a look then change it to WPA - the higher and more secure level.

There is no default security passphrase on a Netgear. The username is admin and the password is password.

Yes,Netgear comes with Default selected as None.If you got it installed from the store you might wanna check your paperwork....

For NETGEAR routers, the password is usually on the side or bottom of the router, but if you still can't find the password plug a computer in too the router with a cat 5 cable (router probebly came with one) then, on the computer plugged in, open a browser and go to http://192.168.1.1/ the router will ask for a username and password, the user=admin and the pass=password click wireless to find out the current password or to change the name and password.

Welcome JAB16526 but please pick threads younger than ninety days to post into - old ones like this are being closed to tidy up the Forum. Also, many Netgears have the address 192.168.0.1 but doubtless this poster from 2010 has fixed it by now.
