Im building a new system (I haven't done so in 5 years) and I've noticed on some motherboards (http://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/970%20Extreme3/) they have something called realtek content protection for pre-recorded audio. Is this some kind of DRM protection?

The realtek website says "The ALC898 is a multi-channel High Definition Audio Codec with Realtek proprietary loss-less content protection technology that protects pre-recorded content while still allowing full-rate audio enjoyment from DVD audio, Blu-ray DVD, or HD DVD discs." but that isn't clear enough for me.

I'd really like to hear from someone who has this on their motherboard. What does it do? Does this mean if I download a song (as opposed to buying it) it will refuse to play?
